Weird one, buds. SWIM was talking to a friend in his kitchen, asked about a little HDPE bottle with no label on it. Friend sez, that's old wet g-butyrolactone.
Why not be of service to humanity with it, SWIM sez. Because it's wet. Wet? Yeah, it was in HDPE for years and years. Should have put it in glass or stainless. (Pay attention bees!) Water has come into it through the plastic. Hydrophilic, doncha know. It has changed texture, doesn't have that light oily viscous character any longer. Pours like water, not like lactone. Still smells a bit like lactone, he says.
SWIM was wondering aloud if you could just lightly heat something like this (or freeze it) to separate and drive off the water and make the gbl useable for service to humanity again. Or has something happened in addition to just the infiltration of H2O? fadeaway has no earthly idea but wonders what the bees think of this.

I doubt that any water will go through PE. And even if it did, no biggy, it will still work just the same. Just use as is, no need to convert to NaGHB even.
